$77k grant enhanced State programs aimed at youth alcohol enforcement in 2021

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety awarded $77,277 to the Department of Liquor Licenses and Control through a federal grant in October 2020. The funding was disbursed through this September, and provided personnel overtime, personnel expenses, out-of-state travel, and material resources. A large portion of the grant funded youth alcohol enforcement and training which targeted underage drinking and fake ID violations at bars, concerts, raves, college campuses, and during DUI task forces throughout the year. The grant also helped provide fake ID recognition training to law enforcement officers around the State. ID loupes were also issued to aid officers during identification card investigations in the field.
