Rabies confirmed in several skunks in Flagstaff/One human exposure confirmed

The Coconino County Health Department says several skunks found in the Greenlaw and Coconino Estates areas of Flagstaff have tested positive for rabies. One human exposure was reported and the individual is receiving treatment. To avoid you or your pet from becoming infected, keep pets on a leash and get them vaccinated and avoid wildlife acting strangely such as nocturnal animals out during the day. Animals with rabies can also look intoxicated and can be aggressive. You should also not touch dead animals. Visit the Coconino County Health department website for more information.
