Thursday morning, Cottonwood Police responded to the 100-block of South 9-th Street for a welfare check. Officials say a third party had concerns about the people that live at the address and suspected they were having a domestic dispute. Officers had responded to the same location on August 26-th for an unrelated call involving 33-year old Devin Sprecher who was arrested that day. Once on scene, an adult female ran out of the house straight towards the officers. It was later discovered that Sprecher had been repeatedly assaulting her throughout the night and held her against her will. The victim suffered several injuries due to the assault; none were life threatening. Verde Valley SWAT was called in to get Sprecher out of the house and after several hours, he finally gave up.
