The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who travel Interstate 40 in Flagstaff to plan for possible long delays while ADOT crews continue pavement preservation work requiring ramp closures, lane restrictions and the installation of a temporary concrete barrier.The following ramp closures will be in place overnight from 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31:Westbound I-40 off- and on-ramps at Butler Avenue (exit 198) will be closed. Drivers can use the westbound off- and on-ramps at Country Club Drive (exit 201).The following restrictions will occur overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, and ending Tuesday, Aug. 31: Westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane between Country Club Drive and the junction with I-17 (mileposts 201-195).A 16-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.The following restrictions will occur overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, and ending Friday, Sept. 3: Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane from the junction with I-17 to Country Club Drive (between mileposts 195-201).A 16-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.The following ramp closures will be in place overnight from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2: Eastbound I-40 off-ramp at Butler Avenue (exit 198) will be closed. Drivers can use the eastbound off-ramp at Country Club Drive (exit 201).The following ramp closures will be in place overnight from 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3: Eastbound I-40 on-ramp at Butler Avenue (exit 198) will be closed. Drivers can use the eastbound on-ramp at Country Club Drive (exit 201)The speed limit will be reduced to 45 miles per hour in work zones.
