Spectrum Healthcare says that due to the overwhelming volume and healthcare personnel workforce challenges their limiting COVID-19 testing. Patients who are in need of a COVID-19 test should call 1-877-634-7333 to make an appointment for a test at their Prescott or Cottonwood location. From now on, COVID-19 testing will be by appointment only and limited to 60-per day, per site. In addition the testing will be done curbside due to the increase in positive COVID cases in the county. I am not trying to be snarky. I am giving a first hand assessment of Spectrum based upon my personal experience with their vaccination program and the additional reporting in this article.
My conclusion is that Spectrum is demonstrably unfit to deliver these vital and urgent public health services. I don’t know how they managed to secure these contracts. I don’t know why they still have them. But by their own admission they are not capable of the scale of services needed to protect the public.
