Saturday evening, Verde Valley Fire responded to a house fire in lower Oak Creek Estates in Cornville. Fire Chief Danny Johnson says the resident was working outside when neighbors told him his house was on fire. Johnson says crews found fire coming from the front of the home through the windows. He says they made a quick aggressive attack to contain the fire to the room where it started. Johnson says the resident was displaced due to the damage. Red Cross assisted to make sure he had a place to stay while crews investigated the scene. The cause of the fire is pending.
