YCSO and multiple agencies were involved in a standoff Wednesday afternoon with a man wanted for multiple felonies in Maricopa County. Public Affairs Supervisor Kristin Greene says at about 12:45-pm, YCSO was asked to assist in executing a search warrant on the suspect who was wanted for charges in Maricopa County including aggravated assault on law enforcement. Coconino County was simultaneously serving a search warrant on the subject for a possible connection to a homicide.Greene says the suspect, 44-year old Herb Ludewig of Sedona, was located in a home with four other people in the Village of Oak Creek. Negotiators couldn’t get Ludewig to surrender, but three of the occupants exited with a fourth found in a shed; all were arrested on unrelated charges. SWAT eventually entered the home and located Ludewig in a closet. Multiple items were seized including over 20-weapons and pipe bomb materials.
