The public will likely see smoke from prescribed burns in a few locations this week. Coconino National Forest crews hope to treat up to 800-acres, including slash piles near Mountainaire, south of Flagstaff Tuesday or Wednesday. This Thursday or Friday, fire managers also hope to burn 1,200-acres south of Lake Mary Road. Prescott National Forest fire managers are planning to conduct a 2,900 acre burn about 4-miles south of and west of the I-17/Highway-169 junction. The Burro Prescribed Burn may be conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday. All burns will be dependent on the weather.
