Investigation leads PANT Detectives to arrest a Heroin Dealer in Prescott Valley

Recently, PANT detectives received information regarding heroin sales in the Prescott Valley area. YCSO spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says the investigation identified 38-year old Benjamin Lauer of Prescott Valley as a heroin dealer. D’Evelyn says Lauer was arrested near a park at the corner of Summer Walk Way and Antelope Meadows Drive in the Pronghorn subdivision of Prescott Valley. He says after the initial contact with Lauer, he ran from police officers and was eventually caught hiding in a bush. A Prescott Valley K9 Officer recovered over 7 grams of heroin and 2 grams of methamphetamine found nearby. Lauer had also thrown his cell phone and ID card which were found and seized. D’Evelyn says a search of Lauer’s nearby home on East Smoke House Lane located thousands of dollars in cash, scales, drug paraphernalia and an additional quantity of methamphetamine. Lauer was jailed on several felony charges.
