Tuesday afternoon, Copper Canyon Fire responded to a semi-trailer fire on I-17 near milepost-296. Battalion Chief Dan Elliot says upon arrival crews found a semi-tractor trailer fully involved in flames. He says the tractor had been disconnected from the semi. Crews were able to pull attack lines in and suppress the fire from extending into the nearby wildland. Elliot says the fire was reported by a passersby who saw smoke coming from the trailers breaks. No injuries were reported.
