Wednesday, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation held an event at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum in Phoenix at which the foundation, and its partner, APS, awarded close to $234,000 worth of lifesaving equipment grants to fifteen public safety agencies in the state. Locally, the Foundation awarded Verde Valley Fire District over $23,000 for seven sets of turnout gear. Central Arizona Fire over $17,000 grant for the purchase of two mechanical CPR devices and Sedona Fire District almost $29,000 to purchase 80 sets of high visibility jackets and vests. Since 2005, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has provide more than $40-million in funding, lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations in 48 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, with $1.4 million dollars in Arizona alone.
