The National Weather Service in Bellemont continues to expect widespread moderate to heavy rainfall across much of the area today through early Friday morning. Totals have not changed significantly overnight with many areas expected to receive up to 1-to-1.5 inches of rainfall.Higher totals of around 2 inches are possible across Yavapai and Gila Counties where a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from noon today until Friday afternoon. As rainfall runoff and snowmelt runoff drains into creeks and rivers this evening into Friday morning, they anticipate rivers and creeks to rise. Most notably Oak Creek, Sycamore Creek, Granite Creek, Dry Beaver Creek, Wet Beaver Creek, West Clear Creek, Fossil Creek, Tonto Creek, East Verde Verde River, Verde River and Agua Fria River. Low water crossings will likely be impacted. Snow levels will remain around 8000-to-8500-feet through Friday morning keeping snow accumulation to the highest mountains and terrain. In addition to the rainfall, expect gusty southwest winds up to 35 mph through this afternoon. Several more storms are predicted for Friday night through Wednesday.
