The National Weather Service in Bellemont says we should expect unsettled weather through at least next Tuesday. Today will bring seasonable temperatures and dry weather through the afternoon. A change in the pattern will begin to develop by this evening as a low pressure system moves into the state from California. Expect southwest wind gusts up to 30 mph through at least Friday. Snow levels with this first event will remain high with a mixture of snow and rain from 6,500-feet to 7,000-feet. The main snow accumulations will be at and above 8,000-feet. Most areas will see up to a half-inch of rainfall with higher totals around 1-to-2-inches across portions of Yavapai and Gila Counties. There is a continued concern that by Friday morning we could have the potential for flooding in portions of Yavapai and Gila Counties as runoff causes a rise in a few creeks and rivers. This could impact some low water crossings Friday. Precipitation will tapper off into the day Friday as cold air is ushered in behind this system. Snow levels will drop Friday into the weekend with a few scattered snow showers possible early Saturday morning. Snow accumulations will remain below a half inch and mainly along the high terrain of the Mogollon Rim and Kaibab Plateau. Another system may affect the state by the end of the weekend and into early next week.
