YCSO recently responded to a family fight on Allen Way in Yarnell. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says it was determined that 64-year old Brian Sheppard had assaulted his girlfriend before fleeing the area and that he was likely under the influence of methamphetamine. Evidence of meth use was found. It was also discovered there were several firearms in the house belonging to Sheppard. After confirming Sheppard was a prohibited possessor based on a prior felony conviction, deputies seized 3 safes containing various firearms. Later that evening, Sheppard agreed to meet deputies at the Yarnell substation and was arrested on drug and weapons charges. A few days later, a search warrant allowed deputies to get into the safes at which time they confiscated 7-firearms and 1000-rounds of ammunition.
