DPS rescued children this week that had been kidnapped and were headed for Mexico. Officials say Idaho State Police notified DPS about a parental kidnapping; the father had threatened the mother that he was taking the kids into Mexico. Troopers located the suspect and children on northbound Highway-93 near Wickieup and conducted a traffic stop. Contact was made with 25-year old Jose Hernandez Jr. and an 18-year old woman; the children were also in the truck. The children were turned over to the Department of Child Safety, the 18-year old was released and Hernandez was booked into jail. Hernandez was also found to have a no-bond felony warrant out of Idaho. He will be extradited back.
