Navajo County Officials say 2018 was busy year for the Navajo County Major Crimes Apprehension Team and their Traffic Enforcement Unit.

Navajo County Officials say 2018 was busy year for the Navajo County Major Crimes Apprehension Team and their Traffic Enforcement Unit. Together the two agencies, whose first goal is to reduce the flow of illegal drugs, apprehended over $4-million worth of narcotics. The Traffic Enforcement Unit consists of two Deputy Sheriff’s and two K-9’s. The Major Crimes Apprehension Team consists of one lieutenant, two sergeants and three detectives. Detectives also frequently work with the DEA and Homeland Security Investigations as well as the Winslow, Snowflake-Taylor and Show Low Police Departments. Drugs seized included; over 920 pounds of marijuana worth over $1.6-million, over 440-pounds of Meth which has a value of over $1.2-million, 20-pounds of cocaine worth almost $600,000 and 17-pounds of heroin valued at 420,000.
