Thursday, Yavapai County Supervisor Jack R. Smith was unanimously elected by his colleagues as the Second Vice President of the County Supervisors Association. As Second Vice President, Supervisor Smith will serve on the organization’s executive committee, helping to develop plans and implement strategies for strengthening Arizona counties in state and federal policy making. Supervisor Smith was also elected to serve on The National Association of Counties Agriculture and Rural Affairs Steering Committee. This committee will discuss issues pertaining to USDA agriculture, rural development programs, rural renewable energy development, research and extension, food safety, and conservation programs.
