9/21 Tonto National Forest plans to conduct 4-pile burns, starting tomorrow and lasting about 3-weeks. Pile burns will start by 9-am each day, weather permitting. Pile burns are planned at the RWC Green Waste Disposal Site, 83 Green Waste Disposal Site, Tonto Basin Green Waste Disposal Site and the Indian Point Green Waste Disposal Site. Smoke will be visible, especially when the Indian Point burn is conducted. There’s a large amount of forest fuels that need to be treated.
