4/24 The US Forest Service says they encountered more drones over wildfires last year than any previous year since drones were first launched in 2013. Firefighters encountered 218-drones last year with 184 of those sightings happening over the Eaton and Palisades Fires in California. Unauthorized drones, in restricted airspace, puts pilots, their crews, ground crews and aircraft at risk. When a drone is spotted, all firefighting aircraft are forced to the ground until the drone is removed.
