1/9 The National Interagency Fire Center says the National Preparedness Level has increased to 2 from 1. Significant wildland fire activity is now occurring in multiple areas with those areas requiring national support. The potential for additional significant wildland fires to occur in the next several days is also above normal for this time of the year. The agency has reactivated airtankers and scoopers to assist with the wildfires in California.
