1/9 Prescott Police released an update in the investigation into the December suspicious death of 67-year-old Steven Bacon. Bacon was found deceased inside his Fair Street home in early December during a welfare check. Officials say Bacon had been stabbed multiple times in the torso, resulting in his death. Investigators identified 31-year-old John Spencer as the possible suspect. December 30-th, investigators also learned that Spencer made statements, admitting his involvement in the case. January 1-st, Spencer was located by Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies near Valle and taken into custody. He is now sitting in the Yavapai County Jail on a charge of 2-nd degree murder. There was no information on what led to the stabbing.
