1/9 DPS seized 553-pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop near Holbrook Monday. Officials say they stopped the semi for a traffic violation and found the drugs hidden within a produce load. Further investigation revealed the drugs were being smuggled from the cities of Salinas and Los Angeles, California, to Canada. The 31-year-old driver was jailed on charges that include possession and transportation of narcotic drugs for sale. The drugs are valued at between $16-and-$22-million.
