On December 8, 2024, the Navajo County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at milepost 252 in the Winslow area. Esgar De La Cruz-Sanchez (25), Alma Yolanda Uresti Perez (24), and Antonio David Ramirez (28) all of Phoenix, were all arrested and booked into Navajo County Jail for numerous felony drug charges.
During the traffic stop, K-9 Zolton was deployed to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle, which he gave a positive alert. A search of the vehicle revealed nearly 12 pounds of fentanyl pills, approximately 53,000 individual pills with an estimated street value of over $357,750.
All three individuals were arrested and booked into jail for transportation of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, and possession of narcotic drugs.
