Skittle Fire 100% Contained/Cause Linked to Exploding Targets

10/23 Tonto National Forest officials say the Skittle Fire, on Sugarloaf Mountain on the Mesa Ranger District, was caused by exploding targets. The fire is now 100% contained with 40-acres burned. Some smoke will be visible as interior pockets burn. Possessing, discharging or using any kind of explosive, pyrotechnic device or fireworks is prohibited in all of the Southwestern Region National Forests in Arizona and New Mexico.
