28 Wildfires Still Burn Across the Country

10/11 The National Interagency Fire Center says there are 28-wildfires in the country that have burned nearly 1.3-million acres. There 1,300-firefighters and support personnel working the fires. With the nation currently at preparedness level 5, the highest level, wildland firefighters across the West continue to manage wildfires in multiple states. Federal resources are also supporting many communities in the Southeast impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Current fire danger in northern Arizona is “Very High”, which means the slightest spark could cause a major wildfire. The Kaibab National Forest went from “Moderate” fire danger this week to “High” fire danger.
