Backpage.com Defendants Sentenced

8/30 The U.S. Department of Justice says a federal judge in Phoenix this week sentenced the 3-owners of Backpage.com, a prostitution website, for offenses arising from their promotion of and associated money laundering. 76-year-old Michael Lacey, who once owned a home in Sedona, was sentenced to 5-years in prison; 73-year-old Scott Spear of Phoenix and 72-year-old John Brunst of Phoenix were both sentenced to 10-years in prison.  The Court also ordered that all defendants turn themselves in to the U.S. Marshals Service by noon September 11-th. The men ran a prostitution website from 2010 to 2018 when it was shut down.
