Yavapai County Arizona Sheriff David Rhodes was elected to the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Board of Directors at their annual conference in Oklahoma City this week.
Chartered in 1940, the National Sheriffs’ Association is a professional association dedicated to serving the Office of Sheriff and its affiliates through law enforcement education and training, and through the provision of general law enforcement informational resources. The Board of Directors annually reviews the Association’s progress and outlines the law enforcement policies that guide the Association’s activities.
NSA is a key player in shaping national policy on critical criminal justice and homeland security issues important to the nation’s sheriffs, deputies and police in the halls of Congress, US Courts and at the White House, which Sheriff Rhodes has also been part in his role as the current President of the Arizona Sheriffs Association.
“I am proud have been elected to the NSA Board of Directors. This is a position voted on by my fellow Sheriffs around the county,” said Sheriff Rhodes. “I am honored to represent them and thank them for their confidence in me.”
The Sheriffs’ support of Rhodes was based on his experience with border security and his commitment to addressing opioid epidemic related issues.
Sheriff Rhodes is only the second Yavapai County Sheriff to serve on the NSA Board.
