As a reminder to visitors, the Lynx Lake water system continues to be shut down for important water storage tank maintenance. Visitors need to plan accordingly and are advised to bring all their water with them, including drinking water. No water will be available on site until repairs are completed. Since earlier notification of the Lynx Lake water system, the Prescott National Forest (PNF) implemented Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, therefore we ask visitors to please bring adequate water to extinguish any allowed campfires within the developed recreation system.
Recreation sites impacted by this temporary water system shut down include:
- Lynx Lake North Shore
- Lynx Lake South Shore
- Lynx and Hilltop Campgrounds
- Eagle Ridge Group Campground
While the water system is being maintained, portable toilets will be placed at North Shore and within Lynx Campground (loops B and E) in lieu of flush toilets. Vault toilets will continue to be serviced and available. Barrels of water stationed outside vault toilets are for toilet cleaning purposes only and are non-potable.
The completion date for required maintenance is unknown at this time. A notice will be issued once maintenance has been completed and the water system returned to service.
PNF recreation staff regret the inconvenience to visitors.
Stage I fire restrictions prohibit the following:
- Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire, including charcoal and briquettes outside a fire structure that is provided by the Forest Service within a designated area.
