I-17 Nightly Lane Restrictions In Both Directions June 9-15

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to plan for overnight lane restrictions on Interstate 17 during the upcoming week. The restrictions will begin the evening of Sunday, June 9, and end the morning of Saturday, June 15, as work continues on the I-17 Improvement Project between Anthem Way and Sunset Point.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, drive with caution, and reduce their speed around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are in place:

 

 Northbound

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) between Anthem Way and New River Road (mileposts 229-232) nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Sunday, June 9, and ending the morning of Thursday, June 13, for pavement work.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) between Anthem Way and New River Road (mileposts 229-232) from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, to 6 a.m. Friday, June 14, for pavement work.
  • The on-ramp to northbound I-17 from Anthem Way will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Sunday, June 9, and ending the morning of Wednesday, June 12, for paving and temporary striping.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane near New River Road (mileposts 232-234) from 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, for temporary striping.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Black Canyon City (mileposts 243-244) nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and ending the morning of Thursday, June 13, for electrical work.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Black Canyon City (mileposts 243-244) from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, to 6 a.m. Friday, June 14, for electrical work.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures)  near Coldwater Road (mileposts 244-245) nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and ending the morning of Thursday, June 13, for earthwork and a traffic shift.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Coldwater Road (mileposts 244-245) from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, to 6 a.m. Friday, June 14, for earthwork and a traffic shift.
  • The on-ramp to northbound I-17 from Coldwater Road will be closed from 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, to 6 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for placement of temporary concrete barriers.

Southbound

  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Sunset Point (mileposts 252-249) nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and ending the morning of Saturday, June 15, for earthwork and electrical work.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane closed) near Coldwater Road (mileposts 244-243) nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and ending the morning of Friday, June 14, for electrical work.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) near Table Mesa Road (mileposts 238-236) from 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, to 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, for a traffic shift.
  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right-lane closed) near New River Road (mileposts 232-230) nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, June 10, and ending the morning of Friday, June 14, for electrical work.
