The Prescott Valley Police Department is advising the public of the production and sale of drug infused candies like psychedelic chocolate bars and gummy candy. These products contain psychedelic and dissociative drugs like mushrooms and have the potential to temporarily change a person’s mood, thoughts, and perceptions.
The Prescott Valley Police Department is currently investigating two suspected overdoses possibly involving drug infused candy to include chocolate bars containing mushrooms.
Listed are the dangers of psychedelic and dissociative drugs:
- Bad trips: Bad trips can occur when the user experiences negative emotions, anxiety, or fear. These experiences can be distressing and even lead to psychological trauma.
- Overdose: Certain mushrooms can be toxic if ingested in large quantities, and can lead to serious health problems, including nausea, vomiting, and in rare cases, liver damage.
- Combination with other substances: Certain mushrooms with other substances, such as alcohol or drugs, can increase the risk of adverse effects.
