The Town of Clarkdale is excited to announce the completion of the South Broadway infrastructure enhancement project, which was finished ahead of schedule and under budget. To celebrate, all residents are invited to join the Town of Clarkdale, the Bicycle Advisory Committee, and Yavapai County Community Health for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Date: Sunday, June 9.
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Starting location: Selna Mongini Park, 700 Main St. in Clarkdale.
The community will gather at Selna Mongini Park at 7:30 a.m. Bring your bicycle, roller skates, skateboard, unicycle, or walking shoes and enjoy a morning of small-town fun with your friends and neighbors as we ride or walk to the park-and-ride at the end of Bent River Road. This is where the ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Refreshments will be served directly afterward, followed by everyone walking or riding back to Selna Mongini Park together.
Construction began on Feb. 20 and was scheduled to conclude on June 18 but completed ahead of schedule. The road improvements include new pavement, bike lanes, curbs, gutters, and a sidewalk along one side of the road. This is the first project completed under Clarkdale’s new Connect Clarkdale Trails and Active Transportation Plan, marking a milestone in the Town’s effort to enhance connectivity and promote active transportation.
“This project reflects our dedication to improving the quality of life for all Clarkdale residents while utilizing grant funding to help achieve this goal,“ said Clarkdale Mayor, Robyn Prud’homme-Bauer.
This project was partially funded through a NACOG HURF Exchange grant in collaboration with the Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) and the Arizona Department of Transportation, with the remaining costs covered by local funds.
This project is part of Clarkdale’s ongoing commitment to sustainable growth, safety, and community development. The improvements make Clarkdale a safer and more accessible place for all.
