Copper Canyon Fire Responded to the Area of Beasley Flats

At approximately 1:40pm on Mothers Day, Copper Canyon Fire & Medical District responded to the area of Beasley Flats recreational day use area for a smoke check. Once crews arrived on scene, they found a brush fire burning in tall dry brush and mesquite trees within close proximity to several residential structures on Verde Drive, the fire was then upgraded to a working interface assignment. With the assistance of Verde Valley Fire District, Forest Service, and YCSO crews were able to contain the fire at approximately 1.2 acres with no residential structures being damaged. With the use of automatic aid, crews from Sedona Fire District and Verde Valley Fire District moved into our District to cover additional calls for emergency service during the fire.
