The Town of Camp Verde is currently considering multiple updates to the Town’s Planning and Zoning Ordinance. Over the past year, there has been a strong desire to give specific focus to Section 305 of the Ordinance, which relates to the keeping of livestock on properties within the Town.
In 2023, a Work Group comprised of a cross-section of Camp Verde citizens was appointed to review and make recommendations for potential amendments to the livestock provisions of the code. The Work Group has completed a first draft of recommended amendments and is now initiating a public input process.
As a first step in the process, the Work Group and the Town of Camp Verde Community Development Department will be hosting an Open House from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Tuesday May 21, 2024, at the Town’s Gymnasium located at 395 S. Main Street in Camp Verde.
The purpose of the Open House is to provide the public with the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the draft livestock provisions of the code. Attendees at the Open House will have the opportunity to learn more about the proposed changes by visiting one-on-one and in small groups with Work Group members and Town Staff. Feedback will be taken through an online survey, through written comment cards, or via email.
The draft amendments and other information relating to the proposed changes will be posted on the Town’s website by May 15, 2024 so that the public has the opportunity for review prior to the Open House.
