The Town of Prescott Valley has won three prestigious awards from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) “Excellence in Economic Development Awards.” This includes the Economic Development Organization of the Year for a Small Community, awarded for outstanding contributions aimed at strengthening the efforts of AAED. In addition, Cutter Chamberlain, Economic Development Administrator for the Town, won the Economic Developer of the Year for a Small Community, and Diana Soto, the Town’s Economic Development Specialist, won the New Member of the Year.
Cutter Chamberlain’s pioneering policy and incentive framework designed to invigorate commercial appeal in underserved areas of the community has resulted in more business interest across town. He is also responsible for kicking off the Town’s tourism initiative. With help from the Town’s communications team, they developed ExplorePVAZ.com for visitors and residents alike to explore attractions, dining, and shopping options. Chamberlain has been a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development since early 2021 and currently sits on the Board of Directors for AAED representing rural Arizona. His exceptional leadership did not go unnoticed, as evidenced by the prestigious Rachel Hut Bremen Associates Award for Excellence in Leadership he received in January 2023 from the Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA).
Diana Soto, the Economic Development Specialist for the Town, has been very active with AAED since starting in the fall of 2023. She has already taken five of the required courses to obtain her AZED Pro certification. She has attended multiple AAED events and is a member of the Northern Committee, staying active in assisting the Chair with the planning of Northern Arizona events. Her proactive approach to networking and her advocacy for membership expansion further enhance Prescott Valley’s standing within the economic development sphere. Additionally, she has played a crucial role in strengthening community relationships by fostering partnerships with key organizations such as the region’s Chambers of Commerce, Yavapai Community College’s Workforce Development program, and the local Small Business Development Center chapter.
These accolades stand as a testament to the unwavering dedication of Prescott Valley’s staff, amplifying AAED’s mission. They underscore the Town’s steadfast commitment to economic progress and community enrichment, solidifying its position as a dynamic force driving positive change at local, regional, and industry levels.
Congratulations PV!
