The Prescott Valley Police Department is sponsoring its annual Badges and Bobbers fishing event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 20, at Fain Park, 2200 N. 5th Street, Prescott Valley.
The event is free to all attendees. Parking is on East 1st Street where a school bus will shuttle participants down to the park. The Arizona Game and Fish Department has stocked extra fish for the event.
If you don’t have a fishing pole or fishing license, or you’ve never fished before, don’t worry. Loaner fishing poles and bait will be available. Arizona Game and Fish is waiving the fishing license requirement for the morning event.
Enjoy meeting and fishing with officers from the Prescott Valley Police Department, Prescott Police Department, Chino Valley Police Department, and Arizona Game and Fish Department, and with firefighters from the Central Arizona Fire & Medical Authority. Additional participating agencies include deputies from Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The Early Bird Lions Club will be available to help clean the fish attendees catch. A couple of different food trucks will be on site selling food for attendees.
