Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) Governing Board Member Kristine Pavlik submitted her intent to resign from the governing board, effective May 23, 2024. Pavlik began her four-year term in January 2023.
Pavlik expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve on the governing board.
“I have truly loved learning about our incredible school district and working together to support and guide our school community,” she said. “I regret this decision, but due to increasing family and professional responsibilities, I am no longer able to devote the time needed to represent and serve our community fairly.”
FUSD Superintendent Michael Penca said it has been an honor to serve the school district and community with Pavlik.
“While her advocacy for public education and perspective as a FUSD parent will be missed on the Governing Board and advisory committees, I know she will remain an engaged parent and supporter of the Flagstaff Unified School District,” said Penca.
The Coconino County Superintendent of School Cheryl Mango-Paget is now seeking applicants for an appointment to fill Pavlik’s vacancy on the governing board — this appointment will end on December 31, 2024.
According to the County Superintendent’s Office, applicants must be Arizona registered voters and residents of the school district for at least one year prior to the date of appointment. Applicants or their spouses cannot be school district employees.
Applications can be downloaded from https://coconino.az.gov/2855/Governing-Board. Completed applications may be submitted by email to [email protected], by fax to (928) 526-1469, or by mail addressed to Coconino County School Superintendent, 2384 N.
