Thursday night around 8 pm, Deputies responded to a side-by-side vehicle rollover near mile marker 10.5 on Senator Highway in Prescott. The caller, who was the passenger, stated he and the driver had rolled down the side of the road and the driver was unconscious. Groom Creek and Prescott Fire arrived with a YCSO Deputy and found the driver pinned under the rear of the vehicle, and the passenger trapped in the passenger compartment. Fire was able to roll the vehicle over and free both occupants. The passenger then told deputies that the driver had lost control and they had fallen approximately 100-150ft down a very steep cliff. Neither were wearing seatbelts nor helmets.
The Deputy and Fire immediately started CPR on the driver. Unfortunately, after approximately 1 hour, the driver was pronounced deceased. No details on the victim is being released at this time.
