Around 7 am Wednesday morning deputies responded to an auto theft in Cordes Lakes. A person called YCSO to say their vehicle had been stolen but located at a residence in Cordes Lakes. Deputies were given information that led them to a suspect, 41-year-old Kristen Crane, of Cordes Lakes, but she managed to flee on foot before deputies were able to detain her. After an hour canvassing the area, YCSO was able to locate Crane, where she provided a false identity multiple times, and kicked deputies while being placed in a patrol car. While being booked in to the Verde Valley Jail, Crane claimed she had swallowed narcotics just before being arrested. Detention deputies brought the suspect to the hospital where she was admitted, evaluated, released, and then booked into jail.
