On Saturday evening, YCSO Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Mission Ln in Cottonwood. The call reported a male subject engaged in aggressive behavior towards another man, culminating in the throwing of a wooden pallet onto a vehicle parked on the roadway, followed by threats to break windows.
A YCSO Deputy responded after the suspect, 43-year-old Nathan Mohrman, had fled towards his home on his ATV. Despite attempts to engage with Mohrman, he refused to cooperate and retreated into his residence.
Mohrman emerged from his residence, verbally aggressive towards law enforcement. Despite commands to comply, Mohrman continued to escalate the situation, aggressively walking toward the Deputy and shining a bright flashlight into the Deputy’s eyes. Mohrman retreated back and barricaded himself in his home.
After YCSO and Cottonwood PD left the scene, Mohrman exited his home where he was confronted by the two remaining YCSO Deputies.
Nathan Mohrman was subsequently arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, Criminal Damage, and Resisting Arrest.
“This incident underscores the dedication and professionalism of our law enforcement officers in ensuring the safety and security of our community, through effective communication and strategic de-escalation techniques, we were able to bring about a peaceful resolution to a potentially volatile situation.” Sheriff David Rhodes
