The City of Prescott is pleased to announce the selection of Dallin Kimble as its next city manager. Kimble comes to Prescott with fourteen years of public sector experience in Arizona, Virginia, and California, including eight years as county administrative officer in Mariposa County, California, the home of Yosemite National Park.
“I’m excited to be able to come home to Arizona and serve the people of Prescott,” Kimble said. “Despite some recent headlines, I am so impressed with the Prescott community, the mayor and council, the staff, the partnerships, and everything I have found here. We are positioned for success as long as we can work together.”
At the beginning of this year, the City conducted a nationwide recruitment through Columbia Ltd for the vacant City Manager position. The job was posted from January 12 through February 19. Fifty eight applicants applied for the position and 18 of the candidates were invited to preliminary screening interviews. Fourteen applicants were interviewed, and following the initial interviews Columbia presented 11 semifinalists to the City Council on March 12.
The three selected finalists attended an executive team meeting and public meet and greet on March 21. The City Council interviewed each of the finalists in an executive session on Friday, March 22. Following the finalist interviews, Dallin Kimble was identified as the top candidate.
