The Town of Prescott Valley is in the final stages of its Glassford Hill Road Enhancement Project, which completely renovated the busy roadway from State Route 69 to Panther Path. Starting on March 18, weather permitting, crews will refresh the road striping on Glassford Hill Road. During the first week of April, crews will also begin refreshing striping on Robert Road and other areas of Town.
In the first week of April, or when the weather is warm enough, crews will begin to replace regular striping on Glassford Hill Road from State Route 69 to Panther Path with Thermoplastic markings. This material, when placed on the road surface, is more visible, reflective at night, longer lasting, and easy to apply. The roadway is ready to use shortly after application, which minimizes down time.
The new striping material will also be placed from Panther Path to Highway 89A after that portion of the roadway is widened later this year. In early March, Council approved an intergovernmental agreement to put the funding in motion for a third lane, sidewalks, curb, and gutter from Long Look Drive to Highway 89A.
The $9.9 million in funding for the widening project is part of the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 state budget approved in this year’s Arizona Legislative Session (Senate Bill 1722). The Town match of $1.1 million for the project has been budgeted in the Public Works Department capital improvements budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
