Prescott City Council to Hold Study Session Regarding Rodeo Grounds

Prescott City Council will hold a study session on Tuesday, April 9 at 1 p.m. to discuss the proposed Rodeo Grounds Master Plan.  This meeting will include a review of the master plan, a discussion about zoning, and next steps required by Council resolution 2023-1862, which outlines public notification and meeting requirements. Representatives of Prescott Frontier Days have agreed to present the master plan, and City staff from Community Development will discuss current and proposed zoning for the site of the rodeo grounds, as well as next steps in the public review process.

Interim City manager Tyler Goodman said: “Considering all the interest in having a study session on the Rodeo Grounds Master Plan and where they are in the process outlined in Resolution 2023-1862, we have scheduled that item on the study session agenda for April 9th. City staff will explain the steps of the resolution as well as SPC zoning and Prescott Frontier Days will present the master plan and seek Council feedback since it is so integral to the rezoning application.”

Due to the intense public interest, the City will make accommodations for remote viewing and participation.  Details about remote viewing options will be released when the agenda is finalized. Typically Council agendas are posted on the Thursday prior to City Council meetings.

This will be a study session only, so no action will be taken.  This meeting is outside of the parameters of the Council resolution of 2023-1862, and does not count toward the total number of public meetings required for this matter.
