On January 12, 2024, around 12:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a reported structural collapse at Ativo Senior Living of Prescott Valley on North Viewpoint Drive in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a frozen sprinkler line had led to a water leak, resulting in the collapse of drywall on the third floor and significant damage to all three floors.
74 people were immediately evacuated and subsequently sheltered in place. Emergency personnel quickly shut down the leak and worked to mitigate water damage to the property. Fortunately, there were no injuries to residents, staff, or emergency personnel.
Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) Fire Prevention staff worked closely with Town of Prescott Valley Building officials to secure power to all three floors.
42 residents have been displaced, with some finding on-site shelter and others relocating to accommodations off-site. CAFMA firefighters and Fire Prevention staff continued to assist residents on the scene by retrieving personal belongings and medications.
CAFMA extends its gratitude to the Prescott Fire Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, Priority Ambulance, LifeLine Ambulance, the Town of Prescott Valley Building Department, Yavapai County Emergency Management, and the staff at Ativo Senior Living of Prescott Valley for their collaborative efforts in managing this situation.
Thanks for the fireman and crew and everyone who helped out with the Seniors..God Bless them….God wants us all to take care of each other we are all his children
