Man Barricaded Inside Home Arrested by YCSO Swat

Saturday at 8:45pm, YCSO Deputies responded to reports of gunfire from a home on Lois Lane in Prescott. YCSO Dispatchers received calls from two different neighbors stating they each heard multiple shots and a female screaming “get away from me”.

While Deputies were responding to the call, YCSO Dispatchers received an additional report of a family fight at the same location.  When Deputies arrived at the scene, they found the suspect’s girlfriend and daughter, and led them to safety.

YCSO Deputies confirmed that the suspect, Jason Bueter 48 years old from Prescott, fired 4-5 gunshots while in the downstairs of the home. Deputies learned Bueter was still inside the home and secured the area in attempts to get the suspect to surrender.

The YCSO SWAT team was called and arrived, supported by the Prescott Valley Police Department SWAT team. YCSO negotiators continued their attempts to get the suspect to surrender, and after several hours the suspect was taken into custody. Bueter was involved in a similar incident in 2022, at his residence, where YCSO SWAT had to be deployed.

A search warrant was served by the YCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau, collecting the firearm described as the one used by the suspect, ammunition, casings and video surveillance of the offense. Bueter was booked into the Campe Verde Jail, charged with disorderly conduct, recklessly discharging a firearm at a structure, possession of a deadly weapon while being a prohibited possessor, and aggravated domestic violence.
