Along with the complete renovation of Glassford Hill Road now underway from Highway 69 to Panther Path, the Town will now be able to further upgrade one of the busiest corridors in Prescott Valley thanks to $9.9 million in recent state funding appropriations. On Thursday, Town Council approved a standard intergovernmental agreement to put the funding in motion for a third lane, sidewalks, curb, and gutter from Long Look Drive to Highway 89A.
The $9.9 million in funding is part of the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 state budget approved in this year’s Arizona Legislative Session (Senate Bill 1722). The appropriation is contingent on the Town committing to pay at least $1.1 million in matching funds. The Town match has been budgeted in the Public Works Department capital improvements budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
The improvements will allow traffic to move more smoothly and safely on Glassford Hill Road, which carries more than 30,000 vehicles each day.
