| The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists that southbound State Route 87 is scheduled to be closed from noon to 5 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 7) south of Payson.The unplanned closure – about 3 miles south of Payson at milepost 248 – is needed so crews can bring in heavy equipment to remove an oversized boom truck that left the roadway and to clear the road of debris.Detour for southbound drivers:Take northbound SR 87 to westbound SR 260 and then proceed south on I-17. |
