Monday morning, Cottonwood Police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in the area of North Main Street and East Gila Street. Sgt. Chad Sinn say the pedestrian, a 66-year-old male resident, was flown to FMC for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Sinn says a preliminary investigation revealed that the 74-year-old female driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was traveling southbound on North Main Street where, it is believed, her vision was obstructed by the sun. The predestination was crossing North Main Street from north to south before he was struck by the vehicle. The driver showed no signs of impairment during the investigation, which is on-going. Names were not released.
