Wednesday, Prescott Police arrested the former Executive Director of the Prescott Downton partnership 43-year old Misti Smith. Lt. Corey Kasun says the investigation began in October 2021 when the Prescott Downtown Partnership reported being the victim of fraudulent activity after the abrupt resignation of Smith. Detectives found numerous instances of fraud, forgery, and theft that had taken place since the start of Smith’s employment in April 2020. The value of the fraudulent activity has totaled over $200,000 in loss. Smith was booked on multiple charges including fraudulent schemes, forgery and more.
