Last week, Yavapai County hosted the annual County Supervisors Association Legislative Summit and nearly every County Board of Supervisor from each of the state’s 15-counties attended. Thursday, the association took every board member through a list of coalition priorities, which included three resolutions, state budget considerations and fourteen proposals from Arizona Counties. The resolutions included increased transportation investment, expanded access to broadband, and funding for our public safety pensions. The State budget considerations included eliminating the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections cost shift, restoring probation cost sharing, and reauthorizing flexible language in the State budget. Yavapai County submitted four of the 14-legislative proposals.Granting the County Medical Examiner, the authority to authorize a Pathologist Assistant to perform autopsies under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Establishing Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) sensitive use areas that require the use of permits and reasonable restrictions on the number, times, and methods of OHV use.

Junk vehicle zoning enforcement – modified a counties ability to require remediation of junk vehicles from private property that constitute a hazard to public health and safety.
