ADOT says drivers should plan for lane restrictions on I-40 while work continues on the West Flagstaff Bridge replacement project. Lane restrictions will be in place around the clock from 5-am to 5-pm, Tuesday through Friday. East and westbound I-40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Additional restrictions currently in place include eastbound I-40 on and off ramps at the West Flagstaff Bridge and the crossroad under the bridge remain closed. Detours are in place. Closures are needed as crews replace the West Flagstaff Bridge over Business 40, which connects the interstate to Route 66 in west Flagstaff. The project, which is about 3 miles west of the junction with I-17, should be completed by fall 2022.
